Terms and Conditions

Booking Fee

  1. 20% of your total booking is required as a booking fee to secure your wedding day. The remaining 80% is due after your trial has been completed and within 14 days of your wedding.

  2. Dates are given on a first come first serve basis

  3. A date cannot be held without a booking fee and the requested date will still be open to other enquiries in the mean time.

  4. Trial payments are due at the time of booking your trial date.

  5. You agree that by paying your non-refundable booking fee you are agreeing and accepting to be bound to Sophia Criscuolo business terms and conditions.

  6. Failure to make payments within the agreed time frame, may result in the cancellation of your booking.

Minimum Booking Requirements

  1. The minimum booking spend for peak season weddings between April – October is £300. Low season is from November-March (excluding December) and the minimum booking spend is £250.

  2. Bookings that don’t reach the minimum requirement will still be charged at the equivalent minimum cost.

Travel Costs 

  1. I am an Essex based artist, however willing to travel wherever you may need. The first 15 miles from my home address are FREE, all road travel beyond this to trials and the wedding day is charged at 0.60p/per mile (round trip) and is worked out using post codes.

  2. Congestion, toll and parking charges may apply and will be quoted accordingly or where necessary paid in cash on the day.

  3. Destination weddings/events – Ground travel in the UK and in the country of destination is required as well as flights and accommodation for the night before the wedding/event (and after if necessary).

Additional

  1. Early morning bookings where the start time is before 6am for any reason, a £50 surcharge will be charged.

  2. Accommodation close to the wedding venue may be required for the night before the wedding if; journey time is over 2 hours one way, the start time is 6am or earlier, or there are other foreseeable events/delays.

Large Scale Bookings

  1. For larger bookings I can bring an assistant at an extra charge of £70. An assistant may also be needed in the following circumstances;

    • Where there isn’t enough time to get everyone ready in the available time frame.

    • If the venue has access time restrictions.

    • To offer a later/more relaxed start time.

Trials

  1. Trials are offered once the wedding date has been secured with the booking fee. You are more than welcome to book your trial first, however I will not be able to hold your wedding date without a booking fee.

  2. Trial’s are held between 2-6 months before your wedding. If you need me to travel to you this is possible (subject to availability) travel  is charged as per my rates above.

  3. Weekend trials – I may be able to accommodate a weekend trial however cannot guarantee this. As weekends are generally reserved for weddings, please enquire and we can discuss options.

  4. Trials are required for the bride (unless under special circumstances) but optional for the bridal party. Trials usually last approx 2-4hrs for the bride and 1-2hr for bridal party.

  5. In the unfortunate event that you, or any of your bridal party, decide after your trial that you are not satisfied, please send Sophia an email within 12 hours so that any issue can be resolved. After this time a repeat appointment will need to be booked at full price if this is what is required. Refunds cannot be given on work that has already been carried out.

 Cancellations / Postponements:

Weddings

  1. If you were to postpone the date of your wedding or it has been postponed by any other party and I am unable to perform my duties in which I have been booked for. Please speak to me before you choose a new date and we can work together to make sure I am free. Transfer to a new date would incur a £50 transfer fee.

  2. Any bookings that postpone to a different year may be subject to a slight yearly price increase

If You Cancel or Change The Booking

  1. All changes to a booking, need to be made via email and by the bride only.

  2. Payments for work that has already been carried out is non-refundable.

  3. If for any reason you have to change the number of hair and/or makeups for your booking, please let me know final numbers as soon as possible and no later than 30 days before your event. This is to ensure that if we need an extra artist I can accommodate this for you. If you reduce the amount of services needed within the 30 day period, the original amount quoted will still be payable.

  4. The Booking fee is non refundable if you wish to cancel your wedding date.  Couples will have to claim through their wedding insurance.

  5. If services are reduced to less than the minimum booking requirements for peak wedding days the full minimum amount will still be charged.

  6. In the unfortunate event that you have to cancel your booking completely:

    • Cancelling within 3 months of the agreed wedding date = 50% of the remaining balance still due by the original due date.

    • Cancelling 1 month or less prior to the wedding day = 100% of the balance still due.

Occasion make up

If you cancel less than 48hrs before the date agreed, no refund will be given.

 If I Cancel or Change The Booking

  1. In the unfortunate event that I am unable to attend on the day, due to illness or for last minute, unforeseen circumstances all efforts will be made to find an alternative stylist/artist to stand in.

  2. In the unlikely event that I cannot find a replacement artist, monies (excluding money paid for work already carried out) will be fully refunded.

  3. If an assisting artist is needed for large parties and they are unable to attend due to unforeseen circumstances I may ask for an earlier start time to accommodate original numbers, or a refund can be offered on services that have been forfeited.

 In The Event of Delays on the Wedding Day

  1. Sophia Criscuolo cannot be held accountable in the event of unforeseen delays on the day which are out of their control.

  2. If you are aware of factors which could delay or hinder my journey, please advise me as soon as possible so I can factor this into our route. We cannot be held responsible for any unforeseen factors.

  3. No refund or compensation can be offered for delays caused by other wedding vendors, guests, or members of the bridal party arriving late to begin our service.

  4. If you suspect any member of your bridal party may be a challenge in any way, it’s encouraged for them to have a trial to avoid potential delays on the day.

 Insurance

  1. All artists working under Sophia Criscuolo have full public liability insurance to protect both themselves and the client.

 

Products / Allergies

  1. Please inform me of any allergies/sensitivities/skin conditions before any services are carried out. This includes before/during the trial and afterwards if any sensitivities/problems have been found.

  2. Discounts cannot not be given on services if you want to use your own products on the day. We also cannot be held liable for the performance and longevity of the product.

 

Work Requirements

  1. To carry out  makeup services, I will need a minimum of a cleared table/flat surface to set up and electricity power point. If possible it is preferred for this be near a window / natural light.

  2. 15-30 minutes is allocated to set up and be ready in time to start services. If suitable conditions are not provided, Sophia Criscuolo Hair & Make Up cannot be held responsible for delays if time is lost due to this.

Use of Photographs

I hereby give permission for Sophia Criscuolo to use my/our name/s and photos in all forms and photos/videos for for advertising, socials, trade, promotional and any other lawful purposes such as promotion and marketing.

If you do NOT agree to the above and would prefer your likeness not to be used for marketing purposes, please inform me before the day.
