As the principal wigs, hair, and makeup artist on the acclaimed series The Crown, I had the privilege of working closely with Marion Bailey in her portrayal of the Queen Mother. My role involved creating authentic looks that resonated with the character’s historical significance while ensuring Marion felt both comfortable and confident in her performance. From meticulously crafted wigs that reflected the era to nuanced make-up that emphasised Marion’s features, every detail was designed to enhance the storytelling.
